DIY Body Oil

The cold + dry weather is upon us in Toronto. Dry, cracked, red and irritated skin will usually come around this time of year, as the water in our skin evaporates quickly due to external factors. It's extremely important to keep your skin hydrated + healthy during these bone chilling months. Body oils are a great solution as they absorb easily into our skin and provide a protecting barrier against the winter environment.

Your skin is the largest organ of the body and absorbs what is applied to it. It is important to take care of your skin and only apply products that are chemical-free and made from natural and organic raw materials.

Making your own body oil is insanely easy! All you'll need are two things: an unscented, hydrating carrier oil and an essential oil for fragrance + therapeutic benefits.

Suggested Carrier Oils:

Avocado, Hemp, Jojoba, Sunflower, Safflower, Argan, Rosehip, Pumpkin, Sea Buckthorn, Olive, Flax

Suggested Essential Oils:

Lavender, Rose, Orange, Bergamot, Vetiver, Rosemary, Black Spruce, Myrrh, Turmeric, Geranium, Chamomile

Moist Skin is Permeable Skin: Moist skin is 10 times more permeable than dry skin and will carry the ingredients deeper into the epidermis, so apply oil to damp skin for best results. We like to apply body oils after a shower or bath.
