The Boreal Forest

The boreal forest is extremely important to our climate, and Canadians. Canada’s boreal forest is 270 million hectares and it is important for storing carbon, purifying the air and water, and regulating our climate. A large portion of the world’s boreal zone lies in Canada (28% or 552 million hectares), which means the health of our portion affects the health of the environment worldwide.

The boreal forest creates jobs for Canadians! The communities that live in the boreal zone rely heavily on the forest sector to create jobs and provide economic stability. It is also important for the national economy because of the available timber and non-timber products, mineral and energy resources and the hydroelectric potential of regional rivers. The boreal forest provides food, and renewable raw materials for Canadians.

The forest is culturally and economically important to Canada’s Aboriginal community as 70% are located in the Boreal region.

It offers unique tourism and recreational activities! This contributes to our local and national economy and the overall health of our society.

Directions

Use daily all over your body. As it is a natural olive oil soap, store your bar on a dry surface away from water, and allow to dry fully between uses. This is important to maintain the soaps longevity. It may feel different to you as it is an oil based soap. We suggest using a soap dish to aid drying process and make the bar last longer.
We don't recommend using this product on your face. If you are looking for a Face Cleanser, try our Moisturizing Cleanser + Make-up Remover. Follow with Radiant Body Oil.

From June 29 - July 2nd we are donating 10% of sales of the Boreal Forest Soap to

The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) is Canada’s only nationwide environmental charity dedicated solely to the protection of our public land and water, and ensuring our parks are managed to protect the nature within them. The Yukon chapter provides a voice for the wilderness in the territory, helping to keep Canada’s “true” north wild and free.

The Peel Watershed is one of the last remaining intact mountain river ecosystems in North America, spanning an area the size of Nova Scotia containing rugged mountains, pure rivers, boreal forests and arctic tundra in northern Yukon. Wildlife and biodiversity continue to thrive in this pristine wilderness that has been undisturbed by roads and industry. For nearly three decades CPAWS Yukon has been working to protect the Peel, standing up with First Nations, other environmental organizations and the public to resist government efforts to industrialize the region.
