Our Guide To Skincare For Cooler Weather September 27 2018
It's officially fall, and with this change of seasons can come changes in your skin. As you start to layer your clothes, it's also important to consider the transitions you should be making in your skincare. Making a few small updates and being aware of what your skin needs will go a long way to maintaining your glow all year round!
Problem: Cold wind abuses the skin on a surface level
What your skin needs: Protective layer against wind
How: Layer our rich Protecting + Restoring Face Balm when going outside to protect against the elements. Focus on areas of the face where less oil is produced, like around the eyes and neck.
Problem: Cold air tightens + dulls skin
What your skin needs: Moisture to nourish deeper layers of skin
How: Update your face oils to offer more nourishment and comfort to the skin.
- For oily/combo skin try our Clear Skin Advanced Face Serum or a Custom Serum blend. Look for these oils:
- Evening primrose - omega boost
- Argan - super hydrating oil lightweight texture
- Black cumin is a naturally warming oil to boost circulation in the skin
- Avocado - heavier consistency for night time
- Raspberry Seed - good anti-inflammatory oil to repair damage
- Pomegranate - free radical fighting, excellent repair oil
Problem: Less humidity dehydrates skin
What your skin needs: More hydration
How: Increase the number of drops of oil serum to your AM + PM routine by 2-3. And gently exfoliate by combining Regenerating + Stimulating Exfoliator with your Moisturizing Oil Cleanser + Make Up Remover regularly (x1 more per week than you summer routine) to allow better product absorption.
Problem: Sneaky sun exposure
What your skin needs: Protection and damage repair
How: Look for essential oils ideal for sun repair, such as: Frankincense / Helichrysm / Elemi / Sandalwood. Ask us to update your custom serum for "autumn skin repair" next time you order!
Also, use the studded end of our Dual Action Jade Facial Roller at night 2-3 times a week to encourage circulation and oxygen flow for speedier healing.
And make sure to wear SPF every day, even in the winter!
